Are you ready to face the many challenges of climate change?
A jacket launched on January 27, 2022 could help you with that, even cope with “black lava, flash fires, and chemical erosion.”
A jacket fit for the apocalypse and everything in between

The jacket is made by Vollebak of the UK and it has some pretty impressive features. For starters, according to NASA, it’s made from a material originally invented in the late 1950s by Dr. Carl Marvel for NASA’s Apollo program.
Although the speaking can bring about the Apocalypse scenarios from the Marvel Universe, this Dr.Marvel had no connection with the creator of the famous series of superheroes. That does not make the material much less noteworthy or sturdy.
Dr. Marvel has developed a material called polybenzimidazole (PBI), a fiber that Vollebak describes as having “exceptional thermal and chemical stability.” According to the apparel maker, “It can maintain its integrity after exposure to high heat, chemicals and abrasion, and unlike other fire retardants, will not stiffen or crack.”
Vollebak further describes it as “incredibly fire-proof” and “tough enough to survive in space”. After all, it was made for astronauts.
The jacket’s design was additionally inspired by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 2021 “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse” report and despite the fact that we believe a zombie apocalypse is not going to ever clearly happen the report does rightfully state that: “if you are prepared for a zombie apocalypse, you are prepared for quite much anything.”
The jacket’s hood was in addition based on a design made for the United States Air Force in the 1950s. It permits the wearer to seal off their whole face aside from an air hole for breathing, providing greater safety while you need your precious facial features to be out of harm’s way.

The jacket is also prepared with 23 pockets that even line its sleeves. These may be used to hold all of the objects you’ll need to survive a doomsday scenario or can be full of extra insulation to keep you warm in the most extreme of temperatures.
Need a place to rest your weary head amidst all this chaos? Don’t worry, the jacket transform into a sleeping bag. But perhaps its most attractive feature is that it’s really comfortable to wear.
Finally, the jacket is designed to hide dust so feel free to take it camping or on another trip wherein you get dirty. There is one disadvantage to the jacket and this is its steep price of $1295.
So if you think that it can be the only one that protects it in the case of a zombie apocalypse, this may be worth the price. But what if this scenario never happens?
“In the event there isn’t a zombie apocalypse, this is still one of the strongest, most flame retardant jackets ever made. We’re not aware of any other commercial pieces of clothing where the main material can survives re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere and black lava,” Vollebak says.
The jacket started shipping on February 2, 2022, which means you can get it right now.
