Amazon Twitch, considerably popular video- game-streaming service, has been hacked performing in a major data leak, Video Games Chronicle reported Wednesday.
Contained within the leak is everything from Twitch’s original source code to several eras of payout information on the service’s most-popular streamers, Video Games Chronicle reported.
A torrent of a 125-gigabyte queue of data pulled from the hack is circulating on the anonymous dispatch board 4chan.

The people claiming responsibility for the breach said in a 4chan post that the point of the hack was to “foster more dis-ruption & competition in online video streaming space “because Twitch’s community is” a disgusting venomous sink.”
They also detailed the main contents of the hack the source-code for Twitch going back dates, an unannounced digital game storefront meant to vie heavyweights like Steam, & years of pocket records of Twitch streamers (addition to the software development kits for varied Twitch apps & touching software).
It’s unclear if user-data was contravened, but it wouldn’t hurt to change your Twitch password and, if you do not before have it set up, activate two- factor authentication.
Twitch confirmed data breach in a statement on Twitter.
“We can confirm a breach has taken place,”the statement said.”Our teams are working with urgency to understand the extent of this. We’ll contemporize the community as soon as else information is available. Thank you for bearing with us.”
Representatives for Twitch did not instantly respond to a request for comment.
