Elon Musk may be a CEO without a salary, but his current net worth would cause just about anyone to give up their salary if there was a proposed an exchange on offer. Fortunately, an online game allows you to spend all money & even move forward and challenge all that concerns on luxury items that have not even make it to your ‘treat yourself’ list. Plus, it doesn’t even ask for your salary in return.
Earlier this year, we saw a similar game with Jeff Bezos. However, in less than 9 months, their fortunes changed rapidly. While Bezos has seen his personal worth improve, it was the rapid rise in Musk’s worth that made Bezos’ growth seem weak. Unlike Musk, you don’t have to work 2 decades to become the richest person in the world in this game.
Instead, you’ve sorted everything for you in digital wallet ready where you can buy bananas for over $1 worth of bananas or spend them on high-end cars just like Musk. Unlike Musk, you also have the option of buying yourself a Space Shuttle engine instead of hoping for the Raptor Engine to fire on time, putting you at risk of losing everything.
The game is not original even after considering that the name of Jeff Bezos in the title has been replaced. In early May, CNBC reported on a similar game that also used Musk’s name in the title. It was also a challenge since you had to jump over $160 billion in 30 seconds or less. The point of the game is not to see how fast you can click & buy, but rather to see the enormous amount of wealth that these people have amassed that you can’t even spend if you had all power in world to do so.
That this game only lets you buy stuff is probably a sign of the hedonist times we live in. Using money to solve world hunger or vaccinate developing countries would have been a good option in the 9-page layout, but it also wouldn’t fit with Musk’s choices.
Perhaps paying taxes this year would help reduce the load.
