The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has a new player: the hacker collective Anonymous. Amid the Russian offensive against Ukraine, Anonymous hackers claimed that they have taken down several Russian government websites and RT.com, website of state-controlled television network.
The hacker collective made an announcement yesterday on Twitter, claiming to be engaged in a “cyber war“ against the Russian government.
Some of the web sites that had been either taken down by Anonymous or have been slowed down consist of those of the Russian government, the Kremlin, Duma and the Ministry of Defense.
