Since changing its name to Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook has opened its first project to all adults over 18 in the United States & Canada. In an announcement made on its website, Meta said that virtual reality (VR) platform released in beta invitational last year is now freely available to everyone.
In early October, the Massachusetts-based company announced its rebranding with the goal of creating the Metaverse, a virtual world in which users could interact with each other & even play games. Meta hires 10,000 engineers to build the Metaverse tools, where users can become creators & even create their own games using templates and scripts provided by Meta.
In an effort to encourage creators on the new platform, Meta announced a $ 10 million Creators Fund in October, the website says the company will announce the winners of its first creator contest later this this month.
