In a recent breakthrough, scientists have discovered what many call a completely new hidden underground world on Earth. According to a new sensational study of physics, this underground world (translated as “Pataal Lok” in Hindi) was discovered deep in the heart of the Earth.
The belief that the Earth’s inner core is solid has existed for more than half a century. However, the latest findings challenge this idea of the underworld after discovering that the Earth’s inner core is soft. So far, there has been widespread consensus that the Earth’s inner core is a solid sphere of highly compressed iron ore wrapped in a liquid outer core.
However, a recent breakthrough study published in the journal Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors on September 20 found that the hardness of the Earth’s core varies from hard to semi-soft to melt.
I understand. Jessica Irving, a seismologist at the University of Bristol, explained that the more you explore the Earth’s inner core, the more new discoveries be found.
She stated that a big mystery at the center of the earth until Jules Verne published his novel “Journey to the Middle of the Earth” in 1864. According to Verne’s fictional novel, the Earth’s core was hollow. However, this idea was ignored by scientists in 1950.
According to scientists, the center of the earth is very hot and pressured. This is too much for human made devices to handle. “Unless something terrible happens on our planet, we will never directly observe the Earth’s core,” Irving said.
One report was written by Rhett Butler, a geophysicist at the Hawaii Institute of Geophysical and Planetary Sciences in Hawaii, and his team. They analyzed the waves transmitted by a major earthquake in five different locations on Earth. There are two vibrations, a compression wave that flows in straight line and undulating shear wave that flows in a zigzag shape. Depending on the type of geographic activity, each waveform may jump up or down.
Butler said the waves of light hit some areas of the Earth’s core solid sphere and returned, while others passed. Had everything been solid, these waves would have collided with him and returned.
The team checked several times and got the same result each time. This probably suggests that iron in the Earth’s inner core can be found in solid, liquid, and soft forms.
Scientists believe that a better understanding of the inner core will give us a better understanding of the relationship between the interior of a planet and its magnetic behavior. They believe that this study could change the big picture of the Earth’s magnetic field.
